Heady aroma, Devon Life, secret puppertering & chocolate heaven

For the last few weeks, we've been literally 'blown away' by something really unusual (for London-ites). Every evening the night air has been filled with an almost in-toxicating aroma. We think it's coming from the abundance of Bluebells growing in the garden - combined with the super fresh altlantic air (apparently Ilfracombes air is the cleanest in the country) one deep breath outside after 8pm sends a city girl into a reverie...quite amazing.
At this time of year us hoteliers manage to get out and about a bit, and a chance meeting at a local pub unearthed a one of Ilfracombes hidden gems...Ilfracombe is now home to the Pelham Puppet company. We're hoping that the master puppet maker will agree to hold some workshops here over the summer...watch this space.
Our restaurant this month has had a lovely review in the April Issue of Devon Life, Jo Steadman-Smith describes the food as "...to die for".
And finally - looking forward to the end of month, as this brings our Supper-club. April sees chocolate expert Martin Christy from Seventypercent.com, guests will enjoy a chocolate tasting, a 7 course gourment feature, the highlights of which is the venison carpacio and the black forest pigeon.
