horses and boats

For the past couple of weeks, we've all been taking horse riding lessons at the local stables. http://www.mullacott.co.uk
The teaching has been fabulous, in just only a handful of 1/2 hour lessons our 5year old has mastered rising trots, and can be heard excitedly repeating 'I'm going to be a cowboy when I grow up mummy'. (As parents we're delighted in his progress and enthusiasm, not so sure about the aspiration!).
Following this sundays lesson, we all went down to watch the Round Lundy powerboat race. It was a lovely sunny day, and the harbour was packed with visitors watching the colourfull noisy vessels zooming past. We're now rather pathetically dreaming of nautical pastimes, and wondering if we'll ever manage to find time and budget for a boat...dream on.
