minis, beer, and carnival jim but not as we know it

Bank Holiday weekend, lazy hot afternoons, good music, friends, beers no worries.
This Bank holiday took a slightly different turn for family Elmfield. The hotel being fully booked meant a busy and productive couple of days. The mixed weather keeping folk in the Hotel wasn't ideal, but the Ilfracombe events programme managed to bring a smile to everyones face.
Thursday kicked off with the Carnival, a lovely local twist on the classic format: floats, dancing girls and much waving of balloons all for chari-deeee. The beer fesival carried everyone through the rain with great local ales, a bouncy castle and lots of stalls the keep us amused. Bank Holiday monday - whilst a little overcast saw a glorious display of fun and frivolity with hundreds of customised minis driving through town and parking up on the promenade - Ted liked the ninjas, Harvey liked the santas grotto mini, and myself, John.E. England took my eye.
Roll on the Indian summer!!
