There are sooooo many actvities for kids in North Devon that it was a struggle to keep the list down to just five! These are some of the tried and tested favourites that our kids loved and which we recommend to all our visitors so they make the most of their time here. 1) The Milky Way Adventure Park - Incorporating the Wake park and Aquapark
Celebrating 40 years in 2024 and still owned by the same local family, The Milky Way offers a super friendly, great value, full day out – without spending hours queueing! Its unique blend of multi award winning entertainment has been thoughtfully designed by their team to encourage families to have fun together, whatever the weather.
For the Surfers there is the attached Wakepark and Aquapark which offer a superb cable wakeboarding experience for slightly older children and adventurous parents.
All rides, soft play and shows are included in the one entrance fee – just make sure you book in advance, as the park often reaches capacity during peak periods!

2) Watermouth Castle
Discover a full family day out at one of Devon's top attractions! With an enchanting mix of children's rides and attractions where you can race down the mighty Toboggan Run, splash through the Big River ride or fly your own aeroplane on the Junior Aviator. Explore the secret world of the pixies and fairies in the new Fairy Museum. Take on a mini golf challenge, get lost in the hedge maze or brave the Castle Dungeon. All set in 17 acres of beautiful dog-friendly landscaped gardens, overlooking stunning views of Watermouth Cove and the North Devon coastline.

3) Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park
Embark on a journey where wildlife meets the prehistoric world, offering an unforgettable experience for all ages. A fantastic array of animals from big cats to the famous sealion to the gorgeous meercats, there are plenty of creatures for the young ones to marvel at. Dont forget to get a picture alongside one of the amazing huge dinosaurs that are also prowling the grounds.
4) The Big Sheep
Hilarious live shows, including the world-famous Sheep Race, feeding the baby lambs and the DuckTrials plus thrilling rides and Devon’s largest family roller coaster, The Rampage. You will adore the animal magic plus a brilliant selection of indoor and outdoor play and loads of activities to keep the whole family entertained all day long.
5) Exmoor Zoo
Enjoy a day out Exmoor Zoo, one of the “West-country’s hidden gems” on the edge of the National Park. Here you can experience a truly unique rural zoo set into a valley in North Devon. Discover rare and unusual animals seldom found in other zoos like Sand Cats, Binturong and Clouded Leopard, along with everybody's favourites too, Meerkats and Red Pandas.
There are animal feedings and interactive encounter sessions running at timed intervals all day – some of which you can join in with, such as our educational encounter activities and talks about the animals we look after! This makes for a real fun and memorable day out for everyone who comes to visit.
